GPS 4 Runners - Runners GPS Watches
|
Hello, My name is Jeff. I can remember when I used to use “The Pebble Method”* to keep track of my training runs. Technology has changed things a lot over the past few years and now we are using GPS units attached to our wrists. We are GPS4Runners.com review the most well known wristwatch GPS units on the market. Some we buy ourselves and others we borrow. There are only about 4 well known manufacturing GPS watches at the moment. The Garmin Forerunner line is by far the most well known. In addition to reviewing models and giving you pricing information, we also keep you apprised of rebates on the GPS Runners Watches. Make sure you check out our Rebate Center. |

I LOVE this Baby!!! With the Forerunner 405, Garmin finally was able to depart from the big bulky computer on a wrist look. The older units are great but this unit is fantastic. The Forerunner 405 was supposed to be the next model in the line from the 205 and 305. They should have named this one the 505. It's like they leap-frogged a generation. Have I mentioned that I love this baby yet? On the full review listing I let you in on a lot of the details of what functionally makes this a great watch. Right now I want to tell you how impressed I am with the look and feel of the watch. Other than wiping off some sweat from the watch, you are fine to wear this at a black tie affair after putting in your 8 mile run. Hopefully you shower yourself as well! Size Doesn't Matter I tell my wife that size doesn't matter. If you feel the same way, then you may have just found the best deal on a GPS watch. With the 405 being out for a while and probably a 505 on the horizon, the cost of the 305 has come way down. Quite frankly this does a lot of what the other watches do but for about half the price. This GPS watch has been a mainstay in my collection for a couple years now. It's bulky but its not that heavy. It makes up for being bulky by being the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool you will come across I really like the 305 model because it includes a wireless heartrate monitor and it can also be connected to Garmin's wireless bicycle speed and cadence sensor. Being a bike guy and a runner, it works great for me! If you don't need these features, consider the lower-priced Forerunner 205.- TODAY'S SALE PRICE: $153.54![]() |

Rugged and Versatile - For Triathletes This watch was made for triathletes. It's one of the few swim-proof GPS watches on the market. I am not a triathlete (they call me Bob when I am in the water), but I borrowed this from a friend and did a few bike/run workouts and I can see why Triathletes love this watch. Move the watch from your bike to your wrist (or vice versa) is quick as a bunny. The watch will keep track of distance, pace and heart rate as you would expect. The face is real easy to read and manipulate. If I ever learn to swim, I will be buying one for myself :)- TODAY'S SALE PRICE: $349.99![]() |
